Project Info

The goal was to use as much natural light as possible, which gave hand to design and application of large windows. The structure of the windows required careful steel reinforcement and addition of support and as a result deeper masonry walls. The hall way in between the buildings was redesigned/remodeled for a sense of continuity and source of light. The balance and duality creates a delightful space.

Exterior Design

The grand double door entrance is an immediate point of attraction to the space and the use of large sidelight makes it ultra effective. The façade communicates the warmth continued into the space. Clean lines simple, open, and airy feel, with creative use of building materials.

Interior Design

The compact, efficient, and carefully considered design features warm, high-touch materials and clever elements like fold down couch, tables rolling into large sizes if need be, adjustable hanging pegs to accommodate needs of the guests. The mixed use of warm and cooler colors and materials such as wood and stainless steel created a balanced flow and relationship in the space.

Construction Management

Strong scheduling and coordination of design process took place. A strict construction deadline had to be met and could not extend beyond that as well as strict budget. Engineering team needed to be consulted for load bearing capacity in handling additional masonry and steel support. Strong scheduling was essential.
